Steven Reighard, the son of Eleanor Reighard and Jim Sandberg, was born January 9, 1961, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He died on Friday, January 8, 2021, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 59.

Mary “Tooty” Vugteveen, 75, of Milford passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Accura Healthcare of Spirit Lake. A visitation was held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. A procession took place to First Lutheran Church in Milford where a funeral service was held. There will be a burial held at a later date in the in the Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake.

Wilfred “Willy” McHugh, 79, of Okoboji and Fort Myers, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2021, at Lee Health Park Medical Center in Fort Myers.

A funeral service for Earline Blahauvietz, age 93, of Spirit Lake, was held Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial was at Union Cemetery in Harris, Iowa.

Leland “Lee” Currier passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.

Burton Tungland, 89, of Spirit Lake, passed away on December 22, 2020, at Accura Healthcare Center of Spirit Lake, with complications from Covid.

Frederick Reed Dowden, 89, of Spirit Lake, died at home on December 22, 2020. Born to Frederick Rufus and Bessie Elva (Reed) Dowden on October 4, 1931, at the family home on 16th Street, Fred spent nearly all his life in Spirit Lake, a place he loved dearly.

Helen Marie Nash Sturgeon, age 93, passed away December 21, 2020, at Milford, Iowa.

A private family service was held for Charree Sweeten, age 73, of Milford, on Monday, December 21, 2020. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Abben Care Center.

Thomas Boeke, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the Keelson Harbour Senior Living Facility in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Norbert Bremer of Arnolds Park, Iowa, went to his Heavenly home on December 13, 2020, just 3 days after his 84th birthday. He had been hospitalized for 2 weeks fighting a battle with COVID-19 at the Lakes Regional Medical Center in Spirit Lake.

Marjorie Boeke, age 83, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Lakes Regional Heathcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

A funeral service for Raymond “Bud” Kasch, age 84, of Lakefield, Minnesota, will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 1:30pm. The service will be for immediate family only but friends may view the service via livestream using a link found at turnerfuneralhomes.com. Burial will be at Sioux Valley Cemetery.

James Bonsall Jr., 72, of Spirit Lake, passed away at Lakes Regional Healthcare on December 10, 2020. Services will be held at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral home Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 10:30am.

Jean Waters Hardie, 91, born July 16, 1929, passed away November 17, 2020, at her home in Spirit Lake. She spent her early life in Lake City, Sheldon, and Moville, Iowa, and moved to Sioux City in junior high.

Ronald (Ron) Steve Edmunds, age 78, of Arnolds Park, Iowa, passed away after a short battle with cancer on November 16, 2020. Ron was born on August 14,1942, to Steve and Gladys Edmunds and raised on their farm in rural Clarkfield, Minnesota
