Ethan B. Hoff, age 22, of the Mason City, Spirit Lake area, died Friday, September 11, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Carol Marie Kirschbaum, 90, of Spirit Lake passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.

A funeral service for Wayne Blahauvietz, age 96, of Spirit Lake, was held Monday, August 31, 2020 at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Harris, Iowa.

Donald Lloyd Marti passed away on August 19 in Lincoln, NE

Jerome John Pohlen, the son of Joseph Anthony and Frances (Croatt) Pohlen, was born May 4, 1928, in Linn Grove, Iowa. He died on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at his home at Windsor Manor in Estherville, at the age of 92.

A graveside service for Laureen Beck, age 70, of Spirit Lake, was held Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Michael Strum, 64, of Spirit Lake passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Lakes Regional Healthcare.

A funeral service for John Nystrom, age 75, of Spirit Lake, was held Friday, August 14, 2020, at the outside worship area of First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Visitation was on Thursday, August 13 at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.

Bruce Wayne Christoffer, age 57, of Superior passed away on Monday August 3, 2020, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Bruce showed a lot of strength and determination to pull through many health set backs and always left his doctors in amazement at the many obstacles he did conquer. Private family services were held on Friday at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake.

Edward Leo Wollner, son of John and Della (Deneen) Wollner, was born December 30, 1919, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He grew up in Emmetsburg attending St. Mary’s Catholic School where he graduated in 1937

Gary Fredricks – The world lost a passionate advocate of natural resources on July 20, 2020 with the passing of Gary Fredricks at his home in Washougal, Washington.

Kelsie Kae Sturm, age 34, of Lake Park, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020, due to injuries suffered in an ATV accident west of Lake Park.

Patricia (Patty) Hubbell Ingham Davis, granddaughter of F. M. Hubbell, passed away on July 17, 2020.

Patricia (Pat) Daniel passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 16, 2020, in Urbandale, Iowa, where she had been cared for by her sister Paula Diane.

Clare R. Swanson, age 77 of Ruthven, died May 3, 2020.

Kevin David Pohlman, 60, of Lakefield, Minnesota, died Sunday July 5, 2020, at the St. Mary’s hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. There will be a visitation Friday July 17, 2020, from 6:30-8:00pm, in the basement of St. Peter Lutheran Church (north of Lakefield on Highway 86). The funeral will be Saturday, July 18, at 9:00am, at the church, also.

A graveside service with family and friends was held on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley, Iowa.

A funeral service for Ruth De Jong, 82, of Spirit Lake, was held Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Burial was at the Worthington Cemetery in Worthington, Minnesota. Memorials in Ruth’s honor may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project, Doctors without Borders or Smile Train.

Richard “Dick” Hoffman, 85, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Accura Nursing Home in Milford.

On December 7, 2019, Berkley Bedell, age 98, passed away in Naples, Florida. He was surrounded by his three children, Ken and Tom Bedell and Jo Quinn. Visitation and memorial arrangements had been planned for July 24 and 25 in Spirit Lake, Iowa, his lifelong home. Due to health concerns with gatherings, the memorial has been canceled.

A private family graveside service was held for Frederick “Fritz” Hansmann, 82, of Lake Park, Iowa, at Evergreen Cemetery in George, Iowa.

Marjorie “Marge” Perkins, 96, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at Accura Healthcare of Milford.

Jane H. Guritz, 86, of Spirit Lake passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Accura Healthcare of Spirit Lake.

A private family service for Rondog Sweeten, age 73, of Milford was held Monday, June 8, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Internment was at Calvary Cemetery and a gathering was held at Rondog and Charree’s home in Milford beginning.

Max E. Wells, 85 of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, in Hereford.

Roger Hagedorn, 71, of Spirit Lake passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at his residence in Spirit Lake.

Robert Dean Stahly was born May 23, 1929, in Allison Township in Osceola County to Ralph and Omo (Henning) Stahly. He attended Allison #8 Country School and later graduated from Harris High School in 1948. He began farming and then served in the army, part of the time in Korea.

A funeral service for Sylva Wallace, age 100 of Milford, was held Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Burial was at Milford Cemetery.

A funeral service for Eunice Finnern of Spirit Lake, was held Thursday, May 21, 2020, at 2:00pm, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial was at Sioux Valley Township Cemetery.

Rodney Henry Harms, son of Henry and Lillian (Saupe) Harms, was born on the farm near Archer, Iowa, on April 19, 1939. He was the youngest of three children, with older sisters: Bonnie and Shirley. He received his early education at Archer School and then went on to college at ISU in Ames, Iowa, and Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, majoring in business.
