Linda Jean Skelton Hinshaw was born on July 4, 1952, in Spencer, Iowa. to Russell and Arlene (Gibford) Skelton. She was raised along with her six siblings near Webb, Iowa, and was a graduate of South Clay High School also in Webb.
Linda was united in marriage to Jake Hinshaw on February 26, 1971, in Ruthven, Iowa, and in 2021 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together. The couple made their home and raised their four children in Arnolds Park, Iowa.
Linda devoted her life to the care of her family and service to others. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa, as a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Rosary Alter Society and a 20 year religious education teacher. Linda was known for her ready smile and positive attitude. Whether it was as an in-home childcare provider, a school cook of 28 years or an extremely popular sales clerk at Wal-Mart, she always had a kind word to those she helped.
