Klaus J. Rasmussen, 80, passed peacefully on June 26, 2021, in Spirit Lake, Iowa surrounded by family.
There will be no services at this time.
Klaus was born May 14, 1941, to Eva Daugil Rasmussen, in Germany, coming to the United States in 1951 and settling in South Dakota. Klaus graduated from Augustana Academy at Canton, South Dakota.
After moving to Des Moines, Klaus worked as a general contractor for many years.
Klaus is survived by his wife Peggy; daughter Traci (Tim) O’Brien; daughter Christina (Robert) Gaumer; brother Ralph (Millie) Rasmussen; grandsons Mathew Hodson and Christopher Philips; nephew Kendall (Nicole) Hull.
He was preceded in death by his sister Brigita Hull, his mother and father, and his son-in-law Kevin Philips.
Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
