A memorial service for William “Bill” Doornink, of Milford, was held Monday, August 24, 2026, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. He was born Dec. 14, 1961, to Jim and Kay Doornink and passed away on Aug. 7, 2026, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.
Bill is survived by his wife, Susan Ilich-Jones. He will be greatly missed by his sisters, Ann Doornink of Algona and Linda Mulder of Iowa City. His nieces and nephews include: Andrea Vollink, Lori Vollink, Natalie Seibold, Todd Van Otterloo, Tim Van Otterloo, Emily Van Otterloo, Cody Mulder, Megan Zeutenhorst, Tyler Mulder, Kimberly Cullen, Caleb Mulder, and Alex Mulder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Kay Doornink; sister, Susan Postma; paternal grandparents, William and Gertrude Doornink; and maternal grandparents, Ralph and Ruth Freyder.
