Cheryl “Gidget” Colleen Halbur, the daughter of Elmer and Vera (Gillett) Henningsen, was born April 6, 1948, in Estherville, Iowa. After graduating high school, Gidget moved to Arnolds Park, Iowa,where she lived throughout her life.
On March 5, 2001, Gidget was married to Kenneth Halbur. Gidget enjoyed gardening, photography and had a love for all animals. She was a member of the PETA and ASPCA.
Gidget passed away August 2, 2021,at her home in Arnolds Park, Iowa,at seventy-three years of age.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Halbur of Arnolds Park; brother, Bruce Henningsen and a nephew, Rusty Nabor.
Gidget was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Vera Hemmingsen; son, Matt Hovey; and brother, Russell (Butchy) Henningsen.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. Turner Jenness Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
