A Mass of Christian Burial for Mark Tremmel, age 66, of Spirit Lake,will be held at 10:30, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. Interment will be at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji.
Mark Eugene Tremmel, son of Victor and Betty (Harnack) Tremmel, was born on March 18, 1958, in Sheldon, Iowa. He passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, at his home in Spirit Lake.
Mark graduated from Sheldon High School and grew up in Ashton, Iowa. He later moved to Spirit Lake in 2004. He worked as a machinist at Rosenboom, and also worked at Walmart before retiring. After retiring, Mark worked at Fareway. Mark was married to Laverna Schmidt.
Mark cherished his family and friends deeply. He enjoyed working in the yard, was an avid Raiders fan and had a profound love for Mopar Classic cars.
He is survived by his wife, Laverna Schmidt; his son, Adam (Brianne) Tremmel, and their children, Kiresa and Grayson; his daughter, April (Tom) Kruger, and their children, Derek and Zeyda; his siblings, Tony (Donna) Tremmel, Judy (Marvin) Menage, Jim Tremmel and Barb Tremmel; step-children, Kelly (Kim) Schmidt and their children, Katie, Connor and Cameron, Shelly (Tim) Rupiper and their children, Brock (Mackenzie) and Allyson, Kristen (Ryan) Summers and their children, Cole and Kendyl.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Betty Tremmel; his brother, John Tremmel; Laverna’s parents, Richard and Leatrice Christensen; Laverna’s brother, Roger Christensen; and Laverna’s son, Kevin Schmidt.
