Margaret Roach, 95, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Spirit Lake.
A graveside service will be held, at 1:30 p.m.,on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com
Margaret Marie Roach was born on August 3, 1928, to William Fred and Catta Catherine (Mueller) Behrens in Coon Rapids, IA. She was united in marriage to William George Hiles, to this union, one son, Kenneth was born. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1977. She was later united in marriage to Mervin Roach on February 23, 1980, in Spirit Lake. She was a beautician for a short time and worked as a phone operator until she started working for Berkley Fishing Company. She retired in 1993.
In her free time, Margaret enjoyed doing embroidery work and quilting.
She is survived by her husband Mervin Roach of Spirit Lake; son Kenneth (Vickie) Hiles of Wallingford, IA; step son,Wade (Sandra) Roach of Spirit Lake; grandchildren,Jennifer DeVary, Laura Haburn, and Karen Hemiller; step grandchildren,Crystal Jepson, Shannon Weimer, Kyle Roach and Ethan Roach; nine great-grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren; sister,Florence Behrens of Peoria, IL; Doris Schultz of Corpus Christi, TX; and sister-in-law Emily Behrens of Sioux City, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband,William; brothers, Harold, Bill, Arnold; sister, Lois; granddaughter, Beth; a sister-in-law, Marion Peterson; and step sons,Gary Roach and Michael Roach.
