Jackie Carol Hein (Boetel) was born July 7, 1947, in Hartley, IA to Aldolph and Imogene (Rost) Boetel. She died April 17, 2021, at the age of 73.
She graduated from Hartley High School in 1965.
On August 28, 1966, she was united in marriage to Dennis D. Hein in Hartley, IA. The couple made their home in Estherville, Iowa, where they raised two daughters, Christine C. Smith (Darrin) and Angela A. Noya (Keith).
Jackie and Dennis lived in Decorah from 1986 – 1996 when they moved back to the Spirit Lake area to enjoy their retirement years.
Jackie poured her heart and soul into helping save Arnolds Park. She also spent countless hours volunteering and working for the Iowa Rock N Roll Music Association. Jackie was given the State of Iowa Governor’s Volunteer Award for her time and dedication to the Iowa Rock N Roll Music Association. Jackie made sure that Rock N Roll would always live on.
Jackie enjoyed everything Christmas, rock n’ roll and the abundance of wildlife that visited their backyard several times a day. She looked forward to and loved the time she spent with her family and friends.
Left to cherish Jackie’s memories are her husband, Dennis;daughters,Christy (Darrin) Smith and Angie (Keith) Noya;grandchildren, Leeland (Heather), Mikayla, Elizabeth and Jessica;great-grandchildren Kayden and Silas;her brothers and sisters and countless family and friends.
Jackiewas preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother Gordon and 1 sister Janette and her grandson Stephen.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at the Spirit Lake United Methodist Church. The service will be live streamed on the church’s Facebook page. Masks will be required at the service. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
