Cheryl Ann Ricklefs

Feb 17, 2022

Cheryl Ann Ricklefs, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home under Hospice care on February 17,2022. Cheryl was born on August 24, 1950, in Webster City, IA. She was the daughter of Paul and LaNetta Clouse. Cheryl moved from Iowa to Colorado where she pursued real estate and property management. After the death of her husband, Regan, she moved back to Webster City and eventually ended up in the Algona, Iowa, area. She was involved in many business adventures including owning the Wesley Golf Course and starting a new real estate agency with the Iowa State Bank. Cheryl, Betty Kunkel and Tom Ricklefs became partners and bought the real estate agency from the Iowa State Bank. She was very successful and respected in her fields. Cheryl’s story continued and she and Tom got married on October, 2015, in Spirit Lake. They then retired to their lake home on Big Spirit. Cheryl and Tom spent countless hours in the pontoon fishing and enjoying the beauty of the lake. Watching the sunsets (and the squirrels) from their porch were also some of their favorite pastimes.

Cheryl’s grandson said Cheryl’s super power was love … and that was a fact! She so loved her family and friends! She loved spending hours just talking, sharing and making memories. (Casinos were also one of her favorites!)

Cheryl is survived by her husband Tom, stepson TJ Ricklefs and wife Lisa, 2 grandsons (Tommy and James), 2 brothers (Dwayne (Beth) and Denny (Kris), and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life will take place at their home in Spirit Lake this summer.

Any donations will be given to Hospice in Spirit Lake and can be sent to Tom at 11207 Harlan Ave, Spirit Lake, Iowa 51360.
