Brian Johanson passed away unexpectedly on September 30th, 2023,in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Brian James Johanson was born in Spirit Lake,Iowa,on December 12, 1978. Brian was the son of Bennet James and Vicki Kae (Scharnberg) Johanson. He attended elementary school in Spencer, Iola,Kansas, and graduated in Arvada, Colorado, from Pomona High School in 1997. Upon graduation, Brian went to work for Jefferson County Schools where he worked until going into business with his father. After his father’s retirement in 2014, Brian took a position at Denver University as the HVAC Control Technician. Brian held this position until the time of his death. Brian and Remick Lee Hardy were united in marriage on September 21, 2018, in Parker, Colorado.
Brian had many loves throughout his life including trains and big boy steam engines,fast cars,gaming, his bird Spaz, his floppy eared rabbit Nemo and all animals. But mostly Brian loved his family, and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could. Brian was a teddy bear with a big heart and his hugs were always a comfort.
Left to cherish Brian’s memory are his wife, Remick; his parents, Bennet and Vicki Johanson; his aunt, Jane Johanson; his sister, Jennifer Halverson and her husband Doug; his neices, Taylor, Morgan and Jordan; nephew,Jason and their families, several other family and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents,Jim and Margaret (Brinkley) Johanson; his maternal grandparents,Clarence and Awreatha (Peck) Scharnberg; two sisters in infancy, and a niece in infancy.
Brian was a gift to his family and will be in our hearts forever.
