Thomas (Tommy) Eugene Reuland passed away December 17, 2023, at Lakes Regional Hospital surrounded by family.
Memorial Services will be held January 5, 2024, at the Roof Garden in Arnolds Park at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held January 4th, 2024, at the Roof Garden from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Tom was born in Estherville, Iowa, on May 1, 1962, to Eloise and Lawrence Reuland. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1981. On February 18, 1994, Tom was united in marriage to Sue Sangwin in Spirit Lake and was married for 29 years.
Tom and Sue moved to Milford and had their two children, Emily, and Tyler. Tom joined the Okoboji Fire Department when he was 18 years old and was a member for 15 years. When he moved to Milford, he joined the Milford Fire Department and was a member for 28 years.
He would help at many different sporting events at Okoboji High School including running the scoreboard and videotaping. Tom also spent lots of time helping with events in the community like the U of O bike ride and weekend concerts at Arnolds Park. For fun Tom loved to go golfing with his son. Tom was a man who was willing to go out of his way to help whoever needed him.
Tom is survived by his wife Susan; his children, Emily and Tyler (Shelby); his sister, Kathy; sister-in-law, Candy; and his many nieces and nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Gordon, David, and Rick.
