Terri Lee Christensen, born on October 24, 1956, in Spencer, Iowa, was the beloved daughter of John and Ellen (Heikens) Shaw. She spent her formative years on a farm west of Milford, where she received her education and graduated from Milford High School in 1975. Following her high school graduation, she pursued her education at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. Terri initially worked for Morton Buildings in Spencer and later embarked on a distinguished 36-year career with the State of Iowa. She held positions at the Iowa Department of Transportation in Ames, Iowa, and the Iowa Department of Agriculture in Spencer, Humboldt, and Kossuth Counties, retiring in April 2015.
After retiring, Terri and her husband, Darrell, relocated from Humboldt, Iowa, to Milford, settling in her childhood home on Airport Drive, a residence thoughtfully designed by her mother. Terri cherished this home, which held a special place in her heart, surrounded by dear old friends and relatives. She had a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the Okoboji area, taking pleasure in being close to the lake and exploring the scenic nature trails with Darrell. Her green thumb was evident through her thriving garden, where she relished producing tomato juice and preserving bountiful harvests. Terri and Darrell shared a passion for travel and enjoyed memorable cruises together.
