A Celebration of Life Gathering for Shirley Crosby, age 87, of Spirit Lake, will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 1:00-4:00pm, at the Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. A Prayer Service will take place at 1:30pm at the funeral home.
Shirley Ann Crosby, the daughter of Robert Young and Gertrude Fisher, was born on June 13, 1935, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Growing up, Shirley attended school in Northwest Iowa and earned her high school diploma.
In 1971, Shirley was united in marriage to Paul Crosby in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Throughout her life, Shirley lived mostly in Northwest Iowa and was a homemaker.
In her free time, Shirley enjoyed plants, singing, gardening, and socializing. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and doing things with them, especially cooking them Thanksgiving dinner. Shirley loved God and prayed for everyone. She would help anyone that she could.
Shirley passed on June 16, 2022, in Spirit Lake.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Jay (Patti) Scott of Milford; Terry (Doug) Harms of Spirit Lake; Jackie Avery of Spirit Lake; Jaime Crosby of Spirit Lake; Kirk Crosby of Spirit Lake; sister, Kay Schumacher; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Tish Scott; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Crosby; son, Mike Logan; sister, Mary Haugland; and brothers, Vern and C.W. Scott.
