Sharon A. Tyson, 63, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her home in Spirit Lake.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Lakeview Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake, Iowa. www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com
Sharon was born November 21, 1961, to Edwin M. and Alice M. (Hupp) Kabele in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Sharon graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1980 and was united in marriage to Tyrone Tyson on March 8, 2003, in Everett, Washington.
Sharon was known for her fun spirit and her ability to bring joy to everyone around her. She spent many hours each summer working in the family business, Kabele’s Trading Post. After high school, she went on to have a wonderful career and made many dear friends at the Boeing Company in Everett, Washington, where she worked for over 20 years. In 2016, Sharon and her husband Tyrone moved to Spirit Lake. Sharon enjoyed traveling across Europe by train with her daughter Whitney, vacationing in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, working in her vegetable garden, planting flowers and yard work as well as volunteering at the local hospital. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Rachel Watkins of Kent, WA, significant other Matt Beals; and her daughter Whitney Sheets, husband Stephen of Manhattan, KS; and their sons, Emerson, Rowan and Cade. Her sister, Karrie Ferguson of Spirit Lake; Karrie’s son, Tyler Ferguson of Centennial, CO; his wife, Angela, and their children, Caroline, Ethan and Eli; Karrie’s daughter, Abby Ferguson of Spirit Lake; Elizabeth Green, her sister Kathryn’s daughter, of Seattle WA; Trisha Tyson, her sister-in-law of Hartford, WI; and special cousin, Chris Kabele Jr. and his wife Laura, of Spirit Lake.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, sister Kathryn K. Green and many other loved ones.
Sharon will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, and the light she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
