Ronnie was born on September 14, 1941, in Spencer, to Edward and Lucy (Milleman) Resch. He married his lovely bride, Joan (Fries) on August 10, 1963, in Estherville. Ronnie was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Many knew him to be a character and could always be seen in a stylish pair of bib overalls. In his younger years, Ronnie played in Little Joe’s Dance Band, where he could be seen playing the clarinet, alto saxophone and tenor saxophone. He could also be seen dressed up as the beloved Yo-Yo the Clown at many celebrations and birthday parties. Ronnie and Joan lived on the farm where they raised 5 children. The farm was a place for many activities, whether it was raising livestock, harvesting crops, or taking care of their many dogs. It was a central place where friends and family would come together to celebrate and help one another out. They always felt blessed for all the neighbors and friends they had. Almost every morning, Ronnie and Joan could be seen at the Diner, where they would catch up with good friends and maybe give a hard time or two. Ronnie loved to spend time with his neighbors and beloved family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Left to cherish Ronnie’s memory are Sam (Kari) Resch, Andrew Resch, Mike (Julie) Resch, Patty (Bob) Macy, and Jake (Celeste) Resch; grandchildren, Kiana Resch, Emily Resch, Nick (Makayla) Resch, Jennifer Resch, James and Benjamin Macy, Maxwell and Hudson Resch; great-granddaughter, Everly Resch; sisters-in-law, Mary Johnson and Betty Resch; brother-in-law, Jim (Sandy) Fries; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan; brother, Ramon Resch; brother-in-law, Lyn Johnson, and nephews, Bill and Mark Fries.
