Paul Wayne Scharnberg, 67, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away on January 14, 2025. Born on April 26, 1957, in Spencer, Iowa, Paul was the son of Darrel Scharnberg and Marjorie Thorne, both of whom preceded him in death.
Paul was a kind and gentle soul, known for his resilience in the face of adversity and his ability to bring warmth and light to those around him. He helped to raise money for the underprivileged and had a passion for theatre and the arts. His presence will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his siblings: Kenneth Scharnberg of Spencer, IA; Darlene Kelso of Spencer, IA; and Larry Scharnberg of Springfield, MO.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 4:00 pm, at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, IA, where Paul will be laid to rest. The Scharnberg family plots are in the northeast corner of the cemetery.
In honor of Paul, the family encourages everyone to cherish the time spent with loved ones and to remember him for his kindness, strength, and enduring spirit.
