Paul Arthur Chapman, born on October 31, 1958, in Spencer, Iowa, peacefully passed away at Accura Healthcare on November 26, 2025, at the age of 67. A truly great man whose smile and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born to parents Earl D. “Squeeg” and Ruth Ann Wade Chapman, Paul was raised and educated in Spencer, graduating from Spencer High School. Paul enjoyed football and wrestling in his high school days, as well as riding his Yamaha motorcycle and snowmobile. He grew up bartending at his parents’ business, Top of the Pine.
Paul was born a salesman, dedicating nearly 20 years to C&N Sales and later working in food sales and automotive parts, most recently delivering parts at Arnold Motor. He truly loved seeing people and enjoyed every opportunity to visit with others, always making sure they got what they needed. His genuine care and friendly spirit made every interaction memorable.
He loved woodworking, and among his most prized possessions were the toy boxes and wooden caterpillars he lovingly crafted for his grandchildren. These handmade treasures will be cherished for years to come. Paul spent his summers camping with his kids, creating cherished memories. He also loved taking vacations, especially trips to the Black Hills and later, Florida.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie Chapman; his son, Nick Chapman, and special friend, Jessica, of Sioux Falls; and his daughter, Jennifer Von Ehwegen and her husband, Tim, of Spencer, along with their two children, Tate and Jetta. Also surviving are Connie’s son, Nick, and his wife, Crystal, of Florida, and their children, Alex, Will, Grace, Anna, and Olivia.
In addition to his wife and children, Paul is survived by his brothers: Dave and his fiancée, Meg, of Minneapolis; and Sam and his wife, Heidi, of Spencer. His memory lives on through numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will forever hold cherished memories of their time spent with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel Chapman.
Arrangements are under the care of Turner Jenness Funeral Home.
