M. Millie Demers, formerly of Storm Lake, IA; Sioux Falls, SD; Worthington, MN; and Spirit Lake, IA, passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born Nov. 12, 1929, to Gabe and Margaret Caffrey in Sioux Falls, SD. She enjoyed playing golf and cards, thrift store shopping, and traveling. She married Don Demers in June 1948 in Storm Lake. They had four children: Terry (deceased), Jan Johnson of Osceola, WI; Chris Demers of Westbrook, MN; and Craig Demers of Murrieta, CA. They have seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Roy Caffrey; special niece, Shelly (Demers) Koopman; and sister-in-law, Franny (Demers) Karl. She spent the last 25 years enjoying retirement in Spirit Lake.
Donald R. Demers, formerly of Storm Lake, IA; Sioux Falls, SD; Worthington, MN; and Spirit Lake, IA, passed away in July 2022, peacefully surrounded by family. He was born May 24, 1928, in Early, IA, to Fred and Elizabeth Demers. He enjoyed playing golf, cards, and traveling. He married Millie Caffrey in June 1948 in Storm Lake. They had four children. He spent his last 22 years enjoying retirement in Spirit Lake.
Funeral Services for Don & Millie Demers: Saturday, May 16, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 300 E. 3rd St., Storm Lake. A reception will follow at the church.
