Mary Wolterman, 92, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at her home in Spirit Lake.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. A visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5-7p.m., at the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will take place in the St. Margaret’s Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Mary Magdalen Wolterman was born on September 21, 1931, to John and Mary (Wagner) Miller in Palo Alto County, IA. She graduated from St. Ceclia Catholic School in Algona, IA. She was united in marriage to Floy Wolterman on September 21, 1953, in Algona, IA. The couple moved to Spirit Lake where they made their home and raised their family. Mary worked most of her work career as a Home Worker for Berkley Fishing. She also worked at Hy-Vee as a checker, and she enjoyed serving customers at the local Dairy Sweet.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. In her free time, she enjoyed going for walks, having coffee with her friends, she also enjoyed square dancing with Floy and taking short road trips with him.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Robert) Faulkner of Arnolds Park; Louise (Mark) Foxhoven of Spencer; Dean Wolterman of Spirit Lake; son-in-law, Tom Ratcliff of Milford; daughter-in-law, Laila Wolterman of Milford; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Betty Miller of Emmetsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floy, daughter Linda, son Don, infant daughter Lori, and her brothers and sisters.
