Mark “Jack” Zweibahmer of Milford, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on September 2, 2026. Jack was born on September 14, 1954, in West Union, Iowa, to Cyril and Ruth (Heldt) Zweibahmer. He graduated from Milford High School and remained deeply connected to the community he loved throughout his life.
On November 29, 1975, Jack was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sally (Branstetter), in Milford, Iowa. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and countless cherished memories that spanned more than fifty years together.
Jack began his career at the House of Sight and Sound and later fulfilled his dream of owning and operating the business for ten years. He subsequently worked in sales at Motor Inn of Spirit Lake, where he became known for his friendly personality, strong work ethic, and genuine ability to connect with people. Whether greeting longtime friends or meeting someone for the first time, Jack was rarely seen without a smile, and his warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
An avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, Jack loved following his team, but his greatest joy came from supporting his own family. He was his kids’ and grandkids’ biggest fan, rarely missing a game. Whenever he couldn’t be there in person, he was always their very first phone call as soon as the final whistle blew to hear every detail. Jack also treasured traveling—especially enjoying an open bar on trips to Puerto Vallarta, Las Vegas, or anywhere that allowed him to explore and spend quality time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sally; his children, Cory (Kim) Zweibahmer of Milford, Amber Bellville of Ankeny, Hayley (Nick) Mauer of Lake View, and Chelsea (Scott) Busche of Ankeny; and his beloved grandchildren, Kaden and Kinzlee Zweibahmer; Scott, Zac, and Lilia Bellville; Grayson and Elin Mauer; and Declan and Lincoln Busche.
He is also survived by his brother, Chuck (Joy) Zweibahmer; his sister, Kathy Eilers; brothers-in-law, Keith Branstetter, Jerry (DeeDee) Branstetter, and Carl Dryer; sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Zweibahmer, Lucy (Tony) Smith and Fran Conklin; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Ruth Zweibahmer; his siblings, Dick Zweibahmer and Patty Zweibahmer; his mother-in-law, Kay Branstetter; his sister-in-law, Pauline Branstetter; his brothers-in-law, Steve Branstetter, David Dryer, and Bob Eilers; and his nephew, Kirk Eilers.
Jack will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, the pride he took in his children and grandchildren, his generous spirit, and his ability to make others feel welcome. His restless energy, familiar pacing, infectious smile, kind heart, and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Arrangements are under the care of Turner Jenness Funeral Home.
