Marjorie “Marge” Perkins, 96, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at Accura Healthcare of Milford.
A private family graveside service will be held in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville, Iowa. There will be a video service released at a later date by the First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Marge was born on March 18, 1924, in Terril, Iowa, to William and Amanda (Naeve) Keel. She graduated from Terril High School in 1940 and attended Waldorf College in Forrest City. She was united in marriage Vic Perkins on March 7, 1943, in Estherville. The couple had two children, Skip and Gregory. Greg preceded her in death from complications of Cystic fibrosis. Vic preceded her in death in 1985 in Spirit Lake. She worked with her husband for many years at the family owned bank in Whittemore, Iowa, while also raising her two children.
Marge was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was active with Meals on Wheels and was a volunteer at the local hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her son Skip (Caroline) Perkins of Spirit Lake; grandchildren Greg (Erin) Perkins of Seattle, WA and Brian Perkins of Spirit Lake; great grandchildren Leon, Conner and Hope Perkins and her niece Collette Rozeboom of Arnolds Park.
