Marjorie Ann Agnes Ruml (better known as “Marge”), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 30, 1941,to Francis and Matilda Doran. Her childhood was spent in Ocheyedan, Iowa, where she received her education. She graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1959.
She married Bill Ruml, the love of her life, on August 24, 1963. They were married for 55 years when Bill passed away on June 6, 2019.
She was a devout Catholic who lived by her faith and it was the cornerstone of her life. Her fierce dedication, love and loyalty for her family was unwavering. Family was her greatest joy in life and she embraced every moment spent together. She cherished and enjoyed her role as Grandma Margie. She loved being a Grandma. Her rural upbringing inspired her love of yard work, gardening and cooking. Marge loved being on the farm helping Bill with harvest and cooking for the men. Many were lucky enough to be on the receiving end of Marge’s home-cooked meals or treats.
She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her fun-loving spirit and bubbly personality that was larger than life. Left to cherish those memories are her son, Mark (Cindy) Ruml, and daughters Ann (Mike) McClain, Debra (Tim) Bierman and Deana (Royce) Olson; her grandchildren, Jennie (Mychal) Sheridan, Taylor (Charlie) Marquez, Amanda (Garrett) Hagen, Nicole McClain and Nolan Pruett; her great-grandchildren: Juliana Marquez and Matilda Sheridan and her step-grandchildren: Matt (Elaine) Humphrey, Jennifer Humphrey and Veronica Olson and step great-grandchild, Jace Humphrey.
