Marcia Elisabeth Osgerby, 72, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at her home,surrounded by her family.
A funeral service was held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation was Thursday at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will be held in theSpirit Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sprit Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Marcia was born on September 4, 1948, in Spencer, Iowa, to Jack and Mary (Dierks) Rensink. She graduated from Central High School in Phoenix, Arizona. She also attended cosmetology school for a short time. She was united in marriage to Terry Osgerby on August 18, 1970, in Phoenix, Arizona. The couple made their home in Spirit Lake where she ran her own day care for 40 plus years. Marcia was a faithful member of St. Albans Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake.
In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, doing countedcross stitch, and baking. She was most famously known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. Her kids and grandkids always came first, and she made sure she attended all their functions.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Terry Osgerby of Spirit Lake; daughter Elisabeth (Joe) Jennings of Spirit Lake and their children Caleb and Hannah; son Kerry Osgerby of Spirit Lake and his daughter Olivia; daughter Alecia (Robert) Fagen of Urbandale and their children Lauren and Meredith; daughter Sara (Elijah) Cornell of Spirit Lake and their son Cael; sister Mary (Rick) Rehm of Phoenix, Arizona; many nieces and nephews, especiallytwo close nieces,Michelle Barron and Wendy Rehm.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a half-brother,Butch Samuelson.
