M. Maralee Langholz, 90, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com
Maralee was born on September 10, 1934, in West Bend, Iowa, to William and Iva Marguerite (Bell) Bargman. She graduated from Rodman High School where she was the class Valedictorian, and she went on to attend Iowa State University. She was united in marriage to Lauren D. Langholz on February 20, 1954, in Mallard, IA. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2007, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She worked as a Media Specialist & Audio /Visual Teacher for many years.
In her free time, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed donating her time to her church in various church circles and lending a hand where it was needed.
Maralee is survived by her daughters, Sherri Gruber of Des Moines, Diane Jennings of Spirit Lake; sons, Donald Langholz of TX and John (Cindy) Langholz of Bay City, MI; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jo (Gus) Berninghaus of MN; Janell Johnson of Mallard, IA; and her brother, George (Linda) Bargman of GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons Larry and Tom, brother Bill, grandson Joshua, son-in-law Thomas Gruber, a daughter-in-law Julie Langholz and brother-in-law Karl Johnson.
