Larry Kelly, 79, of Superior, passed away July 27, at Lakes Regional Hospital with family by his side.
A Celebration of Life will be held August 17, from 3:00 to 5:00pm, at Javi’s Grill in Spirit Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com.
Larry Lee Kelly was born October 18, 1943, in Spirit Lake, to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Sampson) Kelly. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1961. Larry served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 when he was honorably discharged. On October 15, 1993, Larry married Dorothy Knaak in Spirit Lake. He operated his own construction company and also worked for the City of Superior.
Hunting and fishing were Larry’s favorite past times. He also enjoyed bowling in his younger years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy of Superior; daughter, Teresa Olson of Washington; 2 granddaughters and 2 great-granddaughters; sister Mary Blum of Spencer; brothers, Gary (Ruth Ann) Kelly of Spirit Lake, James (Judy) Kelly of Minneapolis; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant daughter Anna Marie, his parents, first wife Connie Kelly, sisters Peggy Kelly, Roberta Kelly-Dill, and brother Terry Kelly.
