Kieth Vernon Tadlock, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the age of 98. He was a resident of Keelson Harbour Senior Living, located in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Kieth was born to Donovan and Hilda (Blank) Tadlock on February 14, 1925,in Rosalie, Nebraska. Kieth was the third of four brothers, Guy, Kenneth, and Robert Tadlock. The family moved from Rosalie to Ashland, Nebraska,in 1938,where Kieth graduated from high school in 1942.
After high school graduation, Kieth enrolled at Nebraska Wesleyan College in Lincoln, Nebraska. He entered the military in 1944. Upon discharge in 1945, he finished his schooling, earning his bachelors degree at Nebraska Wesleyan and masters degree at the University of Nebraska.
Kieth married Marion A. Dreyer of rural Ashland, Nebraska,on November 28, 1944,in Lincoln, Nebraska. Four children were born into this union, Lynn, Karen, Terence and Kent. Kieth was a school administrator in Wausa, Nebraska, and the Iowa towns of Thurman, Stanton, Exira, Ida Grove and Colo. After he and Marian retired, they bought a winter home in Barefoot Bay, Florida. In 2009 Kieth and Marian moved to assisted living in Keelson Harbour in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
Kieth is survived by Lynn (Robert) Peterson of Okoboji, Iowa; Karen (Jimmie) Stewart of Jacksonville, Florida; Terence (Susan) Tadlock of Palm City, Florida; and Kent (Mary) Tadlock of Kerrville, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other extended family members and friends.
Kieth will be remembered as a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, friend, school administrator, coach, mentor, wood carver and WWII veteran. He will be in our hearts forever!
Services are being planned for April 20, 2024, 11:00 AM,at the Spirit Lake First Presbyterian Church, Spirit Lake, Iowa, and are being handled by Turner Jenness Family Funeral Homes in Spirit Lake,Iowa. More information is available at their website- turnerfuneralhomes.com.
