A memorial service for Judy Radtke Hanson, age 88, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, was held Monday, October 20, 2025, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
Julayne “Judy” Kay Hanson, the daughter of Wayne and Julia Webb, was born September 24, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska.
On January 28, 1956, Judy was united in marriage to Clarence Radtke in Jackson, Minnesota. Together, they owned and operated Radtke Oil Co. in Spirit Lake for 36 years. After Clarence’s passing in 2008, Judy was blessed to be reacquainted with an old friend, Bob Hanson. Judy and Bob were married on May 14, 2010, and from that day forward, they were inseparable. They enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with their wide circle of friends and loved ones.
Judy was known for her hard work, warm heart, and quick wit. She was the kind of person who always had a smile on her face and a clever remark ready to share. A favorite aunt to many, Judy had a joyful spirit and a knack for making everyone feel special. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and golfing, and throughout her life, she showed others what it truly meant to live with happiness.
Judy passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 88.
She is survived by her five children: Lori (LeRoy) Berg of Spirit Lake; Linda (Steve) Baltzegar of New Smyrna, Florida; Julie (Larry Martinell) Burton of Mesa, Arizona; Greg Radtke of St. Peter, Missouri; Brian Radtke of Spirit Lake; two stepchildren, Karen (John) Guy of Los Lunas, New Mexico, and Ken (Kirsten) Hanson of Milford; sister-in-law, Darlene Webb of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.
