Jolene Henely Longmore died Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Accura HealthCare in Spirit Lake, Iowa, with her family by her side.
Jolene was born June 7, 1952, the daughter of Lynn E. and Betty L. (Smedley) Huff. She spent most of her childhood in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1970. Later, Jolene attended Waldorf College in Forest City and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Waldorf in 1998.
Jolene worked for several years at Winnebago Industries in Forest City. It was there that she met Fredrick “Fred” Henely and the two wed in 1979. After raising her family with Fred, Jolene returned to work for many years at Bill’s Family Foods in Forest City. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, bowling on a league at the Super Bowl in Forest City with her friends, knitting baby hats for local hospitals, and serving as a breakfast buddy at Forest City Elementary School.
Jolene married Jack Longmore and moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa, in 2017. During her time with Jack, she spent her time going to dances, visiting family, playing cards with friends and neighbors, and volunteering at Lakes Regional Medical Center in Spirit Lake.
Jolene is survived by her husband, Jack Longmore of Spirit Lake; her daughter, Jody (Jacob) Gall of Mason City, her son, Raymond McCoy of Mason City, her son, Eric (Christine) Henely of Gilbert, and her son Martin Henely of Forest City; grandchildren, Allison Cannon, Brandon Hewitt, Jeremy Tollefson, Taylor McCoy, Alex Gall, Silas Gall, Peter Henely, and Ruth Henely; her sisters, Laura (Don Berry) Sooter of Milton, Florida and Irene Murphy of Evansdale, and her brother, Joseph (Diane) Huff of Arlington, Washington; her brother-in-law, Kenneth (Darla) Henely of Pella; and step-children, Joseph Henely, Chris (Bill) Olesen, Linda (Don) Hill, Kimberly (Jeff) Mueller, Donna Dieters, and John (Theresa) Longmore; along with many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
Jolene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fredrick Henely; sister, Sandra “Sandi” Huff; daughter-in-law, Connie McCoy; mother-in-law, Anna Marie Henely, and father-in-law, Charles “Gene” Henely.
