Jane H. Guritz, 86, of Spirit Lake passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Accura Healthcare of Spirit Lake.
Private family funeral services will be held at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will be held in the Lakeland Memory Gardens in Spirit Lake. Jane was born on March 4, 1934, in Dickinson County, IA to Earl and Olive (Engebretson) Inbody. She graduated from Superior High School in 1952 where she was a star basketball player. She was united in marriage to Raymond Guritz on March 4, 1956, in Spirit Lake. She worked for First Bank and Trust from 1952-1960 as a bookkeeper.
In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, growing flowers, painting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her husband Ray Guritz of Spirit Lake; daughter Lori (Tom) Hendricks of Sioux Falls, SD; son Eugene (Stephanie) Guritz of Spirit Lake; daughter Mary (Randy) Finnern of Spirit Lake; daughter Susan (Clay) Seachris of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter Cheryl (Mike) Hopkins of Walker, IA; seven grandchildren, Kyle Finnern, Rachel (Jeremy) Barnes, Andy Guritz, Josh Guritz, Megan Guritz, Jordan (Tony) Porreca and Alissa (Tyler) Van Middendorp; eight great-grandchildren, Bailee, Kane, Brynlee, Miya, Kylo, Stryker, Zainey and Naveah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean Gilbert and her brother Ken Inbody.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jane’s name and sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
