Gerald “Jerry” Irlbeck, 79, of Spirit Lake, formerly of Carroll, IA, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Lakes Regional Health Care in Spirit Lake.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. There was a Rosary recited at the church followed by a visitation. Burial was held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Holy Angels Cemetery in Roselle, Iowa.

Jerry was born on October 6, 1943, in Carroll, IA, to William and Alvera (Schultes) Irlbeck. He graduated from Kuemper High School and then attended Commercial Extension School of Omaha. He worked the majority of his life in the computer field as a Computer Analyst and Programmer. He was united in marriage to Esther Hannasch on June 20, 1964, at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle, IA.
Jerry was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, hunting, fishing, and cards with friends and family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years,Esther Irlbeck of Spirit Lake; daughter,Tracie (Robb) Barlow of Cedar Rapids, IA; son,Brad (Susan) Irlbeck of League City, TX; siblings: Ronald Irlbeck of Oxnard, CA; Lois (Richard) Whitefield of Ames, IA; Sharon Irlbeck of Carroll, IA; Barbara Weldon of Dayton, OH; brother-in-laws,Leonard Hannasch of Edmond, OK; David (Janis) Hannasch of Atlantic, IA; and sister-in-law,Delores (Toby) Hoffman of Carroll, IA; grandchildren,Erica (Mitchell) Ficken, Sydney Barlow and significant other Ryan Movall, Allie Barlow, Aimee Irlbeck and Jackson Irlbeck; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents,William and Alvera Irlbeck; sister-in-law,Norma Irlbeck; brother-in-law,Bill Weldon; sister-in-law,Jeanette (Ronald) Wittrock; and father and mother-in-law,Leo (Margaret) Hannasch.
