Ellen Louise Watkins Hales passed away November 25, 2024, at Accura Healthcare in Milford. Louise was born in a log cabin near Goodnight, Oklahoma, raised in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and went to college in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she met and married Marion Hales. They had two children, Vickie and Victor, who were raised on a farm near Terril, Iowa.
During her life she worked for a dentist and in a jewelry store before working at the Terril School as a school board secretary. When she retired she enjoyed her hobby of quilting. She also enjoyed traveling to see her grandchildren playing soccer and dance recitals.
Vickie and the grandchildren invite all friends to a casual come-and-go Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 14, from 11:00am – 1:00pm, at Elinor Bedell State Park Shelter House, at 1619 260th Avenue, in Spirit Lake. A light lunch will be served. Casual attire recommended.
