Elizabeth “Beth” Kramme, 96, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Comfort Hospice House in Pella, Iowa.
A celebration of life for Beth will be held at a later date at the Spirit Lake United Methodist Church. Burial will take place in theLakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Beth was born on August 22, 1924, to Vernon Sherman and Jewell (Franklin) Flenniken in Smackover, Arizona. She graduated from Kilgore High School in Kilgore, Texas. After graduation she attended Kilgore College. She later met William Francis Kramme II, a young soldier whom she stayed in contact with until they were united in marriage on February 26, 1946, in Kilgore, Texas. After they were married, the couple moved to Iowa to begin their new life. Bill preceded her in death on October 8, 1991,in Spirit Lake.
Beth worked for 33 years at Berkley & Company in the Quality Control Department. She always loved to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their sporting events and various other activities. After her retirement, she spent her time fishing, camping, traveling the country and of course trying her luck with the penny slots. She is a member of the Spirit Lake Methodist Church and a 50 plus member of Twilight Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Spirit Lake.
Left to cherish her memoryare her daughter, JoAnn (Kramme) Bergeson of Newton, IA; her son Bill (Diane Hall) Kramme of Lakefield, MN;her sister, Bettye (Flenniken) Edwards of Gladewater, Texas;brother-in-law, Glen Dean of Milford, IA. Her grandchildren include: Bruce (Vandi) Bergeson of Towands, KS; Dawn Bergeson of Newton, IA; Tami (Jeff) Veldhuizen of Newton, IA; Sara Bergeson of Newton, IA; Kristie (Tim) Wintz of Milford, IA; Heather Hillman of Jewell, IA; Travis Kramme of Jewell, IA; Jason Hall of Lakefield, MN; Nathan (Tawn) Hall of Lakefield, MN; Deanne Hall and A.J. Simenson of Lakefield, MN, plus fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Troylene (Kramme) Cooper; son-in-law Bernie Bergeson; brother Vernon Sherman Flenniken, Jr.; and sister Troylene (Flenniken) Dean.
