A Mass of Christian Burial for Duane Spangler, age 65, of Lehr, North Dakota,formerly of Jackson, Minnesota, will be held on August 20, at 11:00 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jackson with Father Jonathan Fasnacht officiating. Burial will be at the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Jackson.
Visitation and time of gathering will be held on Friday, August 19, from 5:00 to 7:00pm, at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson. Visitation will continue Saturday,for one hour prior to the service,at the church in Jackson.
Duane Spangler passed away Tuesday evening, July 26, at the Wishek Hospital in Wishek, North Dakota.

Duane “Dewey” Spangler was born on August 14th, 1956, in Jackson, Minnesota, to the late Leslie Albert and Joan Christina (Wenzel) Spangler. Duane was baptized on August 25, 1956. He attended Jackson Schools.
Duane was blessed with four children and two stepdaughters, Shane, Shyloryne, William, Duane Jr., Christina, and Stephanie. Duane enjoyed spending time with his children as well as his 12 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Duane spent many years working as a plumber and a hands-on, jack of all trades. In Duane’s free time he loved spending time with his friends, hunting, fishing, and simply enjoying nature.
Duane resided in Lehr, North Dakota. He was hospitalized at South Central Health, in Wishek, North Dakota, where he passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the age of 65 years.
Left to cherish Duane’s memory are his six children:Shane Spangler (Jennifer) of Laurens, IA; Shyloryne Roark (Stewart Sr) of Lakefield, MN; William Spangler (Kayla) of Lakefield, MN; Duane Jr. Spangler (Sarah) of Marshfield, WI; Christina Cromwell of Ada, OK; Stephanie Cromwell of Cherokee, IA; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; mother, Joan Spangler of Wahpeton, IA; one sister,Patt (David Sr.) Swanson of Arnolds Park, IA; one brother,Dennis Spangler of Wahpeton, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Duane was preceded in death by his father,Leslie Spangler and 4 baby brothers.
