Duane Dale Frahm passed away March 18th, 2026, with his loving wife of 54 years by his side.
Duane was born October 18th, 1944, in La Porte, Indiana, to Ernestine (Atwood) and Elmer Frahm. Duane was the oldest of four sons. The family moved to Minnesota in the late 1950s. Duane graduated from Sauk Rapids High School in 1963.
Duane enlisted in the US Navy in 1964 and served in the Nuclear Submarine Program until he was honorably discharged in 1971. He maintained close friendships with his fellow submariners throughout his life.
In 1971 Duane married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Vouk. They first lived in California where Duane attended Pasadena City College, then California State University at Los Angeles earning his BS and MBA degrees. He attained his CPA shortly thereafter.
Duane began his career as a business executive in Spirit Lake, IA, working for Berkley Inc. from 1974-1989. During this time, he and his wife were blessed with three daughters and a son. Duane and his growing family spent five years living in Taichung, Taiwan. Duane also worked for Video Lottery Consultants in Bozeman, MT, from 1990-2001. He retired after working with IGT from 2002-2012 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Las Vegas, NV. Duane served as a mentor to many during his career.
In retirement, Duane served as a trained mediator for the Clark County court system. He was active in Sun City Anthem’s Community Patrol and their Veteran’s Club. Duane was an avid reader and puzzler. He enjoyed watching sports, especially if his children or grandchildren were playing. Duane also loved to play cards, fish, and golf. Duane and Jeanne enjoyed travels around the world. Most important to Duane was spending time with loved ones. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Duane is survived by his wife Jeanne; daughters, Sarah Frahm (Matt Shelton) of Pacific Grove, CA; Kathryn Frahm (Drew Smith) of Winter Springs, FL; Laura Plante (Andre Huber) of Lucerne, Switzerland; and son David of California; grandchildren Julia, Edward, Oliver Shelton, and Stanley Huber; and brother, Dennis (Jackie Goedderz) of Saint Cloud, MN, and Rick (Gayle) of Middlebury, IN.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Frahm; brother-in-law, Richard Vouk; and niece, Angela Brzinski.
Arrangements are with Palm Mortuary in Henderson, NV. and Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Homes in Sauk Rapids, MN.
A Celebration of Duane’s Life will be held at a later date.
