Delbert George Bryan, “Deb”, of Richfield, Minnesota, passed away November 19, 2021, in the hospital, with his family at his side.
Delbert was born in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to George and Viola (Burke) Bryan. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School, worked the family farm, served in the US Army, then bought a farm in Lakefield, Minnesota. In 1965, Deb became a family man marrying Gweneth Butler Naber, “Dede”, mother of four children: Joe, Barb, Craig and Tony. In 1966, they had Debbie & he adopted Dede’s children. Following Delbert’s farming life, he became a newspaper print man and catalog store owner in Jackson, MN, an insurance salesman and building maintenance supervisor in the Twin Cities area of MN and retired to Mesa, AZ in 1999. In December of 2020, Deb and Dede moved back to the Twin Cities.
Deb is survived by his wife, Gwen “Dede”; children, Barb, Craig, Tony and Debbie; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola; sisters, LaVonne (Clarence “Herbie”) Herbrandson and Lorene (Gerald) Mayou; son Joe, and granddaughter Cedar.
A Graveside Memorial Service was held Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Iowa, with a Celebration of Life following at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in Okoboji, Iowa.
