Darrell D. Frerichs, 84, of Lake Park, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Spirit Lake.

Darrell was born on May 13, 1940, to Harold and Beatrice (Small) Frerichs in Ocheyedan, IA. He graduated from Excelsior High School. He was united in marriage to Arlene Reitsma on September 17, 1967, in Canton, South Dakota.
Darrell’s day job was primarily as a plumber, but he would have rather spent his time following his true passions; he was an avid rock and fossil hunter with his very own museum. When not hunting rocks or showing them off, he enjoyed other outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, metal detecting, and gardening. He spent countless hours in his garden, and he enjoyed growing and collecting cactuses. In his younger days, he played the drums in various local bands.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Arlene Frerichs of Lake Park; children, Brad Frerichs of Spirit Lake; Chad (Erin) Frerichs of Milford; Lance (Kristie) Frerichs of Lakefield, MN; Carissa (Kris) Mulder of Lake Park; Jeffery Scott (Weicai) Frerichs of Upper Marlboro, MD; Joey Lynn (Ladianna) Frerichs of Georgetown, TX; Scott Lynn (Kathy) Frerichs of Nixa, MO; William Joe (Jeanne) Frerichs of Yukon, OK and Darrell Duane (Sue Ellen) Frerichs of Jacktown, OK; 26 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Linda (Larry) Kuhrts of Alta, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson.
