Christopher Leonard Anson of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, was born on September 11, 1963, in Presque Isle, Maine, to Geoffrey Rupert Anson of Ascot, England; and Verna Hall Anson of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. He died at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota,at 2:10pm, on Monday, February 21, 2022.

A funeral service for close family only was held on Friday, February 25, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa. A memorial service for friends will be announced at a later date.

Christopher was educated at Johnson Elementary School in Spencer, Iowa, Spencer Junior High School, and Spencer High School, graduating in 1981. He graduated from The University of Iowa in 1985, with a BA degree in Financial Management. He obtained a CPA license in Phoenix, Arizona, and a MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2000.

He worked as a financial controller for The American Red Cross for many years in Washington DC, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. His last employer was Cobham International in Davenport, Iowa.

He married Lisa Laree Raymond of Chatsworth, California, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glendale, California, on October 22, 2005.

He was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake. He enjoyed fishing, singing, gardening, cooking, traveling and sports (especially football!) and being with his family and beloved dog, Madjik.

He was predeceased by his father, Geoffrey Rupert Anson,in June 1997; his brother,Edward Peter,in October 1982.

He is survived by his wife Lisa, and their daughter, Alexandra Nicole; his mother,Verna Grace Anson of Williamsport,MD; his brother,George Rupert Anson of Weedon, Buckinghamshire, England; his sister,Jennifer Marion Poss,of Milford IA; one niece, two nephews, and one great-niece.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD; the American Red Cross, and/or St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake.
