The funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 24, at the United Methodist Church in Terril, with Terry Luiken officiating. Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Terril.
Betty Marie (Nevill) Brant was born on May 11, 1931, to parents Loren and Violet Nevill. Betty attended Estherville High School along with her siblings: Lola, Virginia, and Loren Jr. (Skip). She graduated in 1949 and went on to attend beauty school. She owned and operated her own beauty salon in the basement of the Gardston Hotel in Estherville. In 1951, she married the love of her life, David Brant. Together, they operated the Brant family farm and raised four children.
Being a member of the Terril community was very important to Betty. She was involved in the Eastern Star, was a member of the United Methodist Church, and served as a 4-H leader. She was also a member of the Many Voices Choir for 16 years.
Family and friends of Betty will always remember her love for cooking, baking, sewing, and ceramic-making. She also loved to fish. Betty had the biggest heart and most beautiful smile; she cherished time spent with her family and friends. There were many years spent attending sporting events and traveling to Spicer, MN, for family vacations.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her brother, Loren Nevill Jr. of Garner; children, Loni (Tracy) Brant of Terril, Kay (Jim) Voetmann of Ringsted, Alan (Tammy) Brant of Terril, and Lynn (Kevin) Paca of Britt; nine grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, and an infant grandson.
Memorials are preferred to the Many Voices Choir or the Church. Online condolences may be left for Betty’s family at HenryOlsonFuneral.com.
